 *    Pap kidnaps Huck and takes him to live in the woods.

 *     Huck fakes his own death and escapes from Pap.

    Huck is on Jackson's Island and sees Miss Watson's slave, Jim.

   *    Huck learns that there are people out to look for Jim on Jackson's Island, so Huck and Jim quickly        leave.

   *  During a foggy night on the river, Huck and Jim miss where they were supposed to stop.

    *    After getting seperated, Huck stays with the Grangerfords for a few days, where he witnesses family rivalry         and a death of his new found friend, Buck.

    *  Huck and Jim come across two men, the "Duke and the Dauphin", who Huck quickly realizes are con-artists.

    During a scam on the Wilks family, Huck begins to mature, ending up helping the family that was being                scammed. 

   *     Huck hears that Jim has been taken and sold, but he begins to question whether or not he should be helping a         slave escape (Jim), but he soon decides that he is gonna help his friend, even if he "goes to hell". 

 *     After finding where Jim has been taken, he pretends to be Tom Sawyer, and Tom Sawyer pretends to be Sid.

     After creating an eloborate plan, Tom and Huck free Jim, only to hear Tom say that Jim was free all along.

  *     Huck and Tom decide to stay and live with Uncle Silas and Aunt Sally
